Laura oversees Ventures’ financial services department. The department provides matched savings accounts, business loans, financial education and individualized financial coaching to Ventures clients.

In 2010, while completing her MBA studies Laura had the opportunity to work on a consulting project with a Ventures client for six months. The experience was inspiring and impactful. She continued to volunteer at the Business Development Training class, coach clients and helped develop the Advanced Marketing curriculum. Joining the Ventuers staff was an easy decision. She has the opportunity to work with clients and see them achieve their goals. Ventuers is a very rewarding place to work with amazing clients, staff and volunteers.

Laura graduated from Whitman College with a degree in Politics and minor in Spanish. While working in Honduras as a Program Director for Amigos de las Americas she had the opportunity to partner with a microfinance institution and agricultural cooperative. She was inspired by the opportunity of combining capital and community development to change lives. She moved back to her hometown of Seattle to work for a nonprofit that provides capital to microfinance institutions in Latin America. She took business classes in the evening to learn about basic business concepts. Laura found her passion in combining her non-profit background with business studies. She decided to get her MBA with a specialization in Entrepreneurship from Seattle University. While in school, she worked with a local Seattle bakery expand their wholesale operations. Laura loved working with the owners on distribution, product mix, production and sales to grow their business. After she graduated from her graduate studies, she worked as a Business Assistance Officer at Community Capital Development and then started on CASH staff.

Laura loves group exercise classes, she would love to start a low-cost workout studio in her neighborhood, minimal equipment, lots of music and she would be the aerobics instructor!
