Beto joined Ventures in March 2008
Beto is responsible for maintaining community engagement, promoting Ventures’ mission, marketing and securing new funding sources to support program growth, Set organizational culture; lead all staff to accomplish the organization’s mission, adhere to core values, and maintain positive work environment.
Beto is passionate and inspired by the mission and for the opportunity to support other entrepreneurs with their dreams and helping them create their vision in a business.
When Beto started his business in Seattle he didn’t have all the business support that he needed to navigate the system and that was the reason he decided to join this community of wonderful entrepreneurs, passionate staff and great community partners!
Beto brings an impressive combination of skills and expertise to this role and has seven years’ experience at Ventures leading the Latino Business Program, a role in which he grew a fledgling training course into a thriving model for Latino small business success around the country and nine years of experience in management level positions. Beto is also the founder and owner of successful Seattle-based small business, Cintli, an upscale Mexican art and retail store in Pike Place Market. These experiences give him unique insight into the challenges faced by aspiring entrepreneurs as they work to increase their financial self-sufficiency through small business ownership. He received a degree in International Business from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Beto had the opportunity to start many business throughout his life. He started his first business at the age of eight years old selling candy at his parents’ garage. Over the years, he had many other businesses like a carwash, selling all kind of products from bags to magazines, restaurant, coffee shop, and family business of jewelry and folk art. A new business idea that he would like to start is a boutique hotel in a little town by the beach, with the concept that guests will disconnect from the world.
