Senior Manager of Resource Development
Anjali joined Ventures in 2014
Anjali connects individual and business donors with opportunities to invest in Ventures’ programming and operations. She is passionate about building relationships with people who are interested in helping entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of small business success. A big part of Anjali’s job is saying thank you and sharing stories of the lives changed through Ventures’ programs. Anjali joined Ventures’ because she believes that small business ownership is a viable pathway out of poverty.
Prior to coming to Ventures, Anjali was employed for seven years at Opportunity Council, a Community Action Agency located in Bellingham, WA. Anjali started at Opportunity Council as an AmeriCrops VISTA and later became an employee with a variety of duties including VISTA program management, job-training, financial education, fund development, grant writing, event planning, community outreach and volunteer coordination. From 2010-2014, Anjali chaired the Whatcom Asset Building Coalition where she taught financial education courses, coordinated an annual Earned Income Tax Credit and free tax preparation outreach campaign and worked closely with the United Way of Snohomish County to design and launch Bank On North Sound. Anjali graduated from Fairhaven College at Western Washington University with a self-designed Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Change, Human Services and Cultural Studies. Anjali has a passion for social justice and ending hunger and has served on the Board of Directors of several non-profits that address these passions; she currently serves on the board of the Rainier Valley Food Bank.
Anjali would love to start a specialty food store with pantry items, cheese and wine. She would teach classes at the store on how to create a well-stocked pantry and cook delicious meals from scratch without recipes.
